On September 24th, 2018 Jesus called his beloved daughter Edith Mae McKoy home. Edith was born in Council, NC on July 14th, 1947. She was the only child to the late Alma Ruth Sutton and Jesse Brown.
As an adult Edith was a hard working woman as she was employed with Red & White and Capital Seafood markets for many years.
Edith was a strong beautiful woman inside and out who touched everyone she knew with her “comical” trash talking and laughter. She was a very outspoken, honest, and down to earth lady who was well respected by all her friends and family. One of her favorite outings was traveling to the beach, looking out over the ocean. Momma E you will be greatly missed.
Edith leaves to mourn two daughters: Tonya McKoy of Durham, NC, Ashia Leak (Jonty) of Gastonia, NC and one son: Russell McKoy (Dawne) of Durham, NC; two stepdaughters: Juline Newman of Durham, NC, Kimberly Osburn (Dale) of Austell, GA and one stepson: Willie Sadat Newman of Durham, NC; one favorite cousin, Lorraine Murchison of Elizabethtown, NC; thirteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren, great friends of Durham, NC: Lovely Green (Anthony), Karen Mayes, Robin Davis and Roy “Butch” Montgomery of Clarkton, NC.
