Fredric Barden Obituary

Fredric Ronald Barden was born May 19, 1957 to the late Elihue and Sarah Owsley Barden.  He joined his maker on January 27, 2019.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Marlo B. Barden and Louise O. Wilkerson.

Fredric attended Hillside High School graduating in 1975.  He pursued numerous endeavors but music was his main passion.  After working several jobs over the years, he fulfilled his dream of playing music in California.  He played with seasoned musicians such as Herbie Hancock, Freda Payne, Patrice Rushen as well as his own band with Jessie Williams.  He also had been associated with Whee Be We Band, Ikeda Kings Orchestra, Mystic Wave Band and Mun Yungo Jackson.

He was employed as an assembler at GKN in Roxboro, North Carolina.

Survivors include a daughter, Anna Barden; brothers, James “Butch” Barden and his twin brother Cedric Donald Barden (Ruthie); nieces, Alisha Barden, Maria Harris, Anita Bell; nephews, Tachun Whack, Alonzo Barden, Michael Wilkerson, Patrick Wilkerson, Brian Harris; and an entourage of friends.
