Grizzelle (Jenkins) Stone

Grizzelle Stone, known to friends as "Grizz," passed away on April 9, 2018, at the age of 95 at Treyburn Rehabilitation Center, Durham, North Carolina, where she resided.

She was born on April 22, 1922 in Durham, NC, to the late Jessie and Ella (Wade) Jenkins. Grizz graduated from Hillside High School in 1940. Following graduation, she attended Lincoln Hospital School of Nursing in Durham, graduated as an LPN in 1942, and had a rewarding nursing career that spanned over 40 years.

She was faithful member of White Rock Baptist Church for 50 years and the order of the Eastern Stars.

She was married to her Husband, Wallace Stone, who predeceased her in death for over 54 years.  She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Christine Jenkins Little, Jessie “Sonny” Jenkins and Brinton Jenkins.

Grizzelle, is survived by her sister, Flora Jenkins Small and a host of nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
