Mother Luvenia Harris Seagers, 97, departed this earthly life on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at her home in Durham, North Carolina. She was born April 8, 1921 to the late Ruffin and Henrietta Palmer Harris in Goldston, North Carolina.
She attended Goldston Public Schools and played basketball for the school team.

She was very active as President of the Usher Board, Superintendent of Sunday School, organist for the Senior Choir, organizer of Homecoming and other activities at Gateway UHCA.
Mother Luvenia passions were sewing making beautiful clothes; reading her Bible becoming more knowledgeable of God’s word; encouraging and uplifting others whether or not family in kind deeds through the church and neighborhood. Mother Luvenia loved life, sitting on her front porch feeling gifts of God—His bright sunshine, cool breezes and watching her flowers grow.
In 1972 Mother Luvenia was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Bennie Seagers.
