Marzetta Otelia Crawley was born on April 30, 1940 to the late Tarlean Winstead Crawley Parker and Maynard Crawley, Sr. A sister, Daisy Crawley and a brother Maynard Crawley, Jr. also preceded her in death.
She was educated in the Durham Public Schools and graduated from Merrick Moore High School. She then attended Durham Technical Community College and North Carolina Central University where she received a degree in nursing.
She worked at Lincoln Community Health Center Duke Hospice and Pettigrew Rehabilitation Center.
She was in service work around the Community. She was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts. She was a member of the Parent Club of Zafa Temple 176 with the youth Drill Team and also a Daughter of the Durham Elks Lodge.
Marzetta is survived by a son, Wayne Wilson, Sr. (Gloria); two grandchildren, Kimberly Symone’ Wilson and Wayne Wilson, Jr.; a brother, Lonnie Thomas Crawley, Sr. (Alice); two sisters, Arnetta B. Crawley and Mary L. Crawley; 15 nieces and nephews; 9 great nieces and nephews; 6 great-great nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
