Michael Joseph Kawika Holland, Sr. was born on November 30, 1978 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Michael Transitioned from this life on September 17, 2019. He was the son of Bruce Thomas Holland, Sr. and Veronica Kay Horton Ragsdale.
Michael received his education in the Durham County School System. He took advanced level English and Math classes as Sherwood Githens Middle School and Charles E. Jordan High School. He graduated from Durham Technical Community College in 1999.
He developed a love for carpentry while taking shop classes at Jordan High School and Durham Tech. He was an entrepreneur. He was Owner/Operator of a home improvement and landscaping business.
Michael gave his life to Christ at an early age joining New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. He loved people and made a lasting impression on everyone he met. He enjoyed spending time with his children, family and friends.
Preceded him in death were his beloved grandfathers, John Walker Horton Sr., Mainer T. Holland and uncle Larry Tyrone Holland.
He leaves to cherish loving memories, his three children, Alana Kneonie Alise Holland, Sydney Kamille Micah Holland and Michael Joseph Kawaki Holland Jr.; his mother, Veronica Kay Horton Ragsdale; his father, Bruce Thomas Holland, Sr. (Marvalene); his beloved grandmothers, Maternal Christine C. Horton and paternal Uva Lee Holland; two brothers, Bruce Thomas Holland, Jr. (Christina) and Edgar Lee Williams (Quana); one sister, Tiffany Holland; five aunts, Shelia Thompson, Patricia Barbee, Shirley Jenkins, Christine Holmes (Kevin), Felicia Hankins (Walter); three uncles, John Horton, Jr., Allister Horton (Mary) and Douglas Horton (Keiko); one great uncle, Jessie Ray; one great aunt, Alma Jean Crutchfield.
He also leaves to cherish loving memories, a host of honorary brothers, cousins, nieces, nephews and best friends.
