Virginia Elizabeth Cross

Virginia Elizabeth Cross was born March 31, 1953 in Durham, N.C. The Lord called Virginia home on August 22, 2019.

Virginia was educated in the Durham Public School System and was a proud graduate of Hillside High School class of 1971 where she was a member of the Tennis Team and Chorus. Virginia also attended North Carolina Central University. Virginia was a longtime employee for the City of Durham where she was affectingly known by many as “VA”.  All that truly knew Virginia knew that she had a great fondness for the beach, jazz, and an even greater fondness for her family.

She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Kristen Cross-Wando (Edward); her grandchildren, Karim Wando and Kasia Wando; one aunt, Edna Frazier; two sisters,  Burnella Cross and Pastor Sandra Massenberg; two uncles, Willie Frazier and Darryl Cross; and three nephews, Burnice Cross (Dennell), Paul Hucklebee, Jr. (Denver, CO) and Quinton Hucklebee (Denver, CO).

Her parents were the late Burnice Edward Cross and Ella Frazier Cross Floyd. She also leaves behind a host of cousins and friends.
