Alissa Lynette Leach

Alissa (Lisa) Lynette Leach, the middle child of Oscar Cicero Leach and Valinda Wilson Leach, was born on December 9, 1973 in Durham, North Carolina.  She transitioned this life on Friday, April 13, 2018,  after experiencing a sudden illness.

Lisa was reared in Newport News, Virginia;  Durham, North Carolina,  and Raleigh, North Carolina.  She was educated in the Wake County Schools in Raleigh and was a 1992 graduate of Enloe High School.

Professionally, she was a North Carolina State employee, serving as Security Officer at the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh for seventeen years.

She accepted Christ as her Savior at any early age and attended various churches throughout her life including Smith Temple F.W.B Church and Mt. Peace Baptist Church in Raleigh.  Most recently, she attended Bible study classes at Grace African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church in Raleigh, North Carolina.  

Lisa loved her family.  She served as primary caregiver for her mother, Valinda, providing her top-notch, loving, attentive, and  detailed care on a daily basis.  In addition, she placed her siblings, extended family, and especially children second to no one but God.  She brought joy to all family functions.

Lisa leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Valinda Wilson of Raleigh; father, Oscar Leach of Elizabethtown, NC;  two brothers, Oscar Leach of Oxen Hill, Md. (Shantaine), and Michael Leach of Washington, D. C.; one sister, Kamyla Leach of Birmingham, Alabama;  nieces, Kelsey Merritt, Arion Staten, and Brianna Aultman; nephews, Bryson Leach, Michai Staten and Zion Leach and aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, April 27, 2018,  at 10:00 am in the Hayti Heritage Center at 804 Fayetteville Street, Durham, NC,  followed by a repast at 810 Belvin Avenue in Durham, NC.
