Mrs. Annie Belle Justice Taylor, daughter of the late Bolden Justice and Cora Jones Justice of Durham, North Carolina, was born on May 30, 1934 in Durham, North Carolina. She departed her life to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 18, 2020.
Annie achieved her education in Durham County, North Carolina. She was a graduate of Merrick Moore High School in Durham North Carolina. She then furthered her education at Durham Technical College becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse. Her career consisted of working at Duke Medical Center and John’s Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. Annie ended her career and retired from the Veterans Administration Medical Center of Durham, North Carolina, where she worked for numerous years as a Pulmonary Medical Technologist
Being a devoted women of God, Annie served as a faithful Church Secretary and Senior Choir member for Cameron Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Durham North Carolina for many years. She continued her fellowship and worship at Union Baptist Church, and Peace Missionary Baptist Church, Durham, NC until her health started to decline. Annie was loved by many and known for her missionary work. She truly enjoyed helping, feeding and visiting others to make them feel loved. Annie loved cooking her favorite dishes for everyone and often referred to as… “Soup Queen”. All flowers were her pride and joy with full coloring. She would always say “Give me my flowers while I can smell them and see all of them grow”.
She married the late James Phil Taylor on September 14, 1957. To this union they were blessed with a daughter, Jerre Taylor Graham. They celebrated over 62 years of marriage resulting in more than six decades of wonderful memories until his passing on November 27, 2019.
In addition to her parents, Annie was preceded in death by her eight siblings. Three sisters, Marth J Hodges, Lena Mae Miller, and Evelyn Barbour. Five brothers, David B Justice, Ervin Justice, Alvis Justice, Jay C Justice and Coy Justice.
Annie leaves to cherished memories with her only child and daughter, Jerre Taylor Graham (Victor), of Durham, NC, grandson, Victor James Graham, (Tianna) of Herndon, VA, Godchild, Kendra Evans Ellis (Ken) of Durham, NC, one brother-in-law, John Taylor of Middleboro, MA and two sister-in-laws, Sally Taylor of Durham, NC and Catherine Taylor of Springfield, MA., along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
