Aronte’ TaMario “Rio” Dyce, son of the late Zura Shirley Dyce and Bobby Martin, was born on April 11, 1978.  He departed this life on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.  He was preceded in death by his parents, grandmother Ellinora Dyce, great grandmother who raised him, Carrie Mae Jamison; three uncles, John Jamison, Clarence Jamison, Arthur Jamison; cousins Tyrone, John Jamison, Jr. and Kenan (Block) Jamison.

Aronte’, known as Mario and Rio, was educated in the Durham Public Schools.  He loved spending time with his son, breeding dogs and drawing.  Marion was a great father and a great person who enjoyed life, his family and who loved his dogs.  He had a very good sense of humor and was always laughing.  Mairon could make a joke of just about anything.

Mario leaves to mourn his loss and to cherish his memories, his son, Kaleb Cockrell; his special friend, Kym Spears; two brothers, Marlon Howard and Anthony Martin; four sisters, Tiarma Williams, Tocarra Dyce, Latondra Martin and Kimberly Martin-Horn; eleven aunts, Peggy Howard, Glendora Shaw, Shirley Jamison, Elizabeth Bowens, Johnsie McNeil, Minnie Harris, Glinze Purcell, Olive Wall, Frances Covington, Naomi Simmons and Maydell McMichael; five uncles, Abraham Shaw, Lorenza Shaw, Tommie McMichael, James Martin and Johnnie Smith, Jr.; four stepchildren, Adriene Thomas, Joshua Thomas, Adrianna Thomas and Johathan Spears; one grandson, Josiha Thomas; one nephew, Jada Bullard; a special friend, Stanley Cole; special cousins, Jacci Hamilton, Carey Howard Jr., Arthur Jamison, Kim Howard Wiggins, Kevin Jamison, Ingrid Archie, Tammie Jamison, Clarence Jamison Jr., Patrick Whitley, Mark Whitley, Anissa Howard, Scott Howard Sr., Robin Cole and Tamara Hawes; special group cousins, Rico, Chico, Arkil, Brandon, Dejuan, Montae, Andre’, Patrick Whitley Jr., Torain, Guilford IV, Tre, Scott Howard Jr., Tashauna, Jalesia, Tierra, Ciara, Kiara, Ta’kera, Tiona, Skylar, Madison, Isaiah, Tarsha, Howard Jr., Scottie, Khadijh, and Kalil; a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.  Mario is also survived by two very best friends, Yogi and Cookie.
