Bessie Mae Parker McGill, daughter of the late Nelson and Elizabeth Lizzie Parker, was born on October 29, 1929 in Bahama, North Carolina. She departed this life on Sunday, May 10, 2020.
She was educated in the Durham County School system and was a graduate of Little River High School.
She was a devoted caregiver.
She was an avid gardener that could grow or bring life to anything. She was a huge Tarheel fan who rarely missed watching a game. Most importantly, she was a mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. These are the roles she cherished most. But her most important role that she loved more than anything was being a child of God and teaching his word by being a living example of his teachings.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Joseph Earl McGill, four siblings, Sarah Burton, Willie Parker, Johnny Williams and Frances Mason.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories, three children, Fred Wayne McGill (Vanessa), Larry Stephen McGill (Beverly) and Ronald Lee McGill (Tammie); grandchildren, Christopher Wayne McGill, Tawanja Latrice McGill, Kacy Michelle Snow, Kelly Michael Mitchell, Larry Stephen McGill II, ShaTia Denyse McGill, Ronald Lee McGill, Jr.; Stephen Earl McGill ,Keenan Jiwad McGill, Rashad Amir McGill and Tarik Nelson; great grandchildren, Christopher L. McGill, Amire Shealey, Treyvion Goodwin, Bryson Snow and Jaxson Mitchell; a devoted sister, Christine Parker; daughters in love, Sharon McGIll, Ola McGill, Pearl McGill and Pamela Bond; nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
