Cassidy "Cat" Joseph Johnson

Cassidy Joseph Johnson, son of Latoyia Edwards and William Johnson, was born on April 6, 2008 in Durham, North Carolina.  He was educated in the Durham Public Schools was a student at Hillside High School. Cassidy was a very loving, caring, smart, and joyful son. Cassidy loved to be on his laptop and play his game with his twin brother Carmelo. He was always helping his mother with things she may have needed done. He loved his parents, aunties and uncles and cousins. Cassidy will be remembered for his love and friendliness. He was so full of life. He will be missed by all who loved him. Especially his parents.

On Thursday, April 11, 2024, Cassidy departed this life on earth at a young tender age of 16.  He was reunited with his maternal grandparents, Christine Edwards and Linwood Earl Burden; his maternal great grandparents, Thelma Eason and Gussie Edwards; his paternal great grandparents, Jessie Ferrell, Marvin Ferrell, and Delois Johnson; and a very, very special cousin, Jasmine Watford.

Left to cherish his loving memory are his parents Latoyia Edwards and William Johnson, and his stepdad Kenneth Shaw. His twin Carmelo Johnson; two brothers, Jalik Artist, and Elijah Swain; five sisters, Miracle Johnson, Shakera Harris, Iysis Harris, Skyla Johnson, and Baby Holloway.  Paternal grandparents William Ferrell and Shelia (Jamison) King; aunts, Christal Edwards, April Edwards, Devonia (Colerain) Askew, Nadine Lovette, Shantell (James) Spruiell, Larisha Johnson, Tamekia Johnson, and Jennifer (Steven) Mathis; uncles, Derrick Edwards, Earl Edwards, Laquinton (Shebita) Holeman, and Tyrick; nieces, Kinsley Satterfield and A’lila Parker; nephew, Khalia Artis; a host of great aunties, uncles, and cousins and a very special friend, Arianna Parker.
