Christine (Daye) Currie

Christine Daye Currie, daughter of the late Jesse and Maggie Miles Daye, was born on August 4, 1934 in Alamance County, North Carolina.  She departed this life on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at Duke University Hospital.

She worked with the Durham Public Schools before serving as a cook in the Durham County Jail.

She was every one’s mother/grandma in the neighborhood.  She loved to fish and always looked forward to enjoying her Sundays in church.

A daughter, Patricia Currie preceded her parents in death.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories, five children, Daisy Currie, David Currie, Jr., Jackie Currie and Tyrone Currie of Durham, NC and Michael Currie (Brenda) of Burlington, NC; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren.
