The service for Mr. Arrington will be live streamed on the Facebook Page of Fisher Memorial Funeral Parlor.
Mr. Clarence Thomas Arrington, age, 88 of 2402 NC Hwy. 55, departed his life on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Duke Regional Hospital. He was the son of the late Luther Arrington and Elorna Williams-Arrington. He was a native of Halifax Co. (Whitakers, NC) and longtime resident of Durham, NC.
He was employed by Duke University where he retired with over 25 years of service as a baker. He was also employed at the Royal Bakery, the campus of UNC, and the famous Davis Bakery for a number of years. At an early age he gave his life to Christ. He was a God-fearing man who loved the Lord. He was a faithful member of Greater Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church for many years. After the untimely death of the Reverend W. T. Bigelow, Clarence switched his membership and later became a faithful and longtime member of Holland Chapel AME Zion Church. Oh, how he loved Holland Chapel and all of his Holland Chapel church family. During his time at Holland Chapel he served as a member of the usher board until his health declined. He would often talk about the many meals he ate at the church and how the members would bring him plates of food during the holiday or just anytime. The love of his church family soon realized that his pastime was eating. And it was “Oh so good” as he would say.
He leaves to cherish his memories, two daughters Joyce Ann Johnson (Reginald); Fay Miles-Kea, both of Durham NC; two granddaughters Katrina Johnson, Breana Kea and a host of nieces, nephews and relatives. He also leaves behind a number of special longtime friends in Christ, Reverend Turner, Reverend Linda Bullock, and Mr. James Raines. As they enjoyed many laughs and wonderful conversations over the years.
