Consandra Annette Jones was born on October 14, 1963, to Gloria Jones and Samuel Cumbo, Sr. in Portsmouth, Virginia. She received her formal education in the Portsmouth School System and enlisted in Job Corps to complete her education in Dietary services. For over 20 years, she served as a Culinary Arts Manager, with Certification in Food Safety. Not only was she a professional cook, she also loved cooking for all her family and friends.
Consandra gave birth to two beautiful sons, Darnell and Michael. Her passion was not only for cooking, but to have a positive and loving influence in the loves of her children and any children she was blessed to be around. As a Child Care Professional, she helped raise and nourish the development of many children in her church and in her community.
Consandra was a three-time Breast Cancer Survivor. She supported and served as a volunteer for the American Cancer Society. Sandra, as she was known by her family and friends, had a voracious sweet tooth. At any time you could find several types of chocolates, candies, cakes, and other delicious desserts in her refrigerator and cabinets. You name it, Sandra had it. And let’s not forget that Sandra always made sure her hair was done, her nails were polished, and that she had on something colorful. If you were to look up the word “bling” in the dictionary, there would be a picture of Sandra! But most of all, if you knew Sandra, then you were loved by Sandra!
Consandra transitioned from this life on Thursday, June 2, 2022. She was preceded in death by her mother Gloria Jones and her father Samuel Cumbo, Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Darnell Jones (Michele) and Michael Jones; three sisters, Nina James, Jacqueline Logan, and Tracy Cumbo; one brother, Samuel Cumbo, Jr.; three grandchildren, Kysean Curry-Jones, Kira Jones a, and Cherish Jones; a former partner, Darnell Gray; four nieces, April James, Shawntwanese Jones Blow (William), Ronetta Faulks; one nephew, Ramon Jones, and a host of great-nieces, a great nephew, family and friends.
