Dorothy Marie Cameron, daughter of the late Herman and Emma Stewart Cameron, was born on December 23, 1938, in Durham, North Carolina. She attended school in Durham, graduating from hillside high school in 1956. She also attended North Carolina Central University.

She was a believer in Christ throughout her life. Later in life, she attended Mount Vernon Baptist Church as a congregation member.

 Dorothy was employed at North Carolina Mutual for over 40 years before retiring.

 Departing this life on November 21, 2022, Dorothy leaves her niece Lisa Marie Lyons of Henderson, Nevada; and a host of other relatives, friends, and classmates.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Emma Stewart Cameron, sister Virginia Cameron Lyons, brother Herman Webster Cameron, Jr., and brother Willie Johnson
