Fran Luray (Wilson) Stevons

Fran Luray Wilson Stevons, 70, departed this life on July 10, 2021. Fran was born December 12, 1950 in Durham, NC to William Satterfield and Naomi Wilson. She moved to Buffalo, New York at an early age with her mom Naomi and stepfather Philip Huston.

Fran was determined to earn her high school diploma after dropping out of high school by attending night school and graduated from Bennett High School. She later earned her cosmetologist license. In the 1990’s, Fran graduated from Weisenberg Culinary School.

Fran worked for the City of Buffalo in the water department and when she moved permanently to Durham in the late 1990’s, she worked at Dillards Barbecue and JC Penney for a few years while being the caregiver for Aunt Lizzie, Aunt Carrie and mother Naomi. Fran began to work for North Carolina Mutual and became a Security Sargent and worked many years until she retired in 2018.

Fran became a Christian who showed love for her family and people in anyway and every way she could.

Fran leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Antonio Wheeler of Buffalo, NY, and Duvalle Ant`vine Malone (Tiffanny) of Raleigh, NC; five brothers, Jesse Covington, Jr. (Betty) of Durham, NC, Gerald Davidson, Howard Davidson, Marlon Davidson, and William “Bill” McLaughlin all of Buffalo, NY; two sisters, Brenda Perry and Esther Satterfield both of Buffalo, NY; eight grandchildren, Ashley Eason, Brandon Malone, and Khrystal Malone all of Durham, NC, Mylah Malone and Chelsey Malone both of Raleigh, NC, Taneeya Wheeler, Cierra Wheeler and Ashley Wheeler all of Buffalo, NY; nine great-grandchildren, Tyshawn, Nasir, Amir, Caleb, Autumn, Jeremiah, Naomi, Marcus, and Maurice all of Durham, NC; nine nieces, Chaundra Clay (Bryan) of Durham, NC, Carla Davis, Khadija Jordan, Zainab Jordan, Nargis Jordan, Sheila Barnes, Latoya Davidson, Cassandra Davidson and Deidra Davidson all of Buffalo, NY; five nephews, Terrence Covington (Heather) of Durham, NC, Tariq Jordan, Jami Jordan, Gerald Davidson, Jr., Eugene Pittman all of Buffalo, NY; and a host of other relatives and friends.
