Mr. Isaiah “Zeek”/ “Bob” Holmes, Sr. was born February 03, 1942, to the parents of the Late and the Great Isaac “Ike” and Fannie “Tab” Holmes (Holloway) in Morrisville, North Carolina. He departed this life on February 17, 2024.

Educated in Durham Public school at Burton Elementary and Whitted Schools in Durham, North Carolina.

Worked at Randolph Bottling Company, Lotta Cola Bottling company (became known as ISPEP), Boldon Brick and Tile, Durham Fruit and Produce, Duke University Hospital, Waffle House, Angus Barn, Nello L. Teer Construction Company, among others, and Carolina Sun Rock where he retired February 2001.

Hobbies were listening and collecting gospel music, working on cars, raising chickens and pigs, gardening, watching wrestling, boxing, movies favorites were Django Unchained and Friday.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Sarah J. Holmes; his children Elvis Ware of Jacksonville, Florida, Isaiah Holmes, Jr. (Elisheba), Karen Young (Donnie) of Newport News, Virginia, Juanita H. Wilkinson, and Robert Lee Holmes II.

His sibling Betty Lou Holmes, Ozell Holmes, Sr., LeRoy Holmes (Hazel), Joshua Holmes, Sr., Hubert Holmes, Juaneza Taylor (Anthony) of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Isaac Rhodes of Washington, D.C., Aretha Chambers, Brothers In-law Burt Johnson (Anne), Andrew Cathcart, and Sister In-law Jacqueline Holmes (Luther) of Zebulon, North Carolina.

Sibling preceded in death are Robert Lee Holmes I, Jimmy Lee Holmes, Juanita Rhodes, and Luther Holmes.

Along with his Grandchildren and (Great Grandchildren) Murod Allen (Anna Daniels), Johnathan Gunn (Kaydence Gunn, Jamaal Gunn), Yaktavia Smith(1) of New York, New York, Quentin Wilkinson (Ty), Zenobia Allen (Nyla Weaver), Tyshaun Wilkinson (Zykiriah Wilkinson, Zamir Person), Jalil Wilkinson (De’khari Wilkinson) of Timberlake, North Carolina, Darryl Holmes (Kaiden Crosley, Kaitlan Holmes, Cam’ron Green, Kha’Niyla Holmes, Kha’Leah Holmes, and Kha’zi Holmes), DaMarkus Young of Newport News, Virginia, Gerald Wilkinson, Kayla Holmes (Emmanuel Correa Holmes) of Whitsett, North Carolina, Nia Wilkinson, Keegan Moore of Whitsett, North Carolina, and Renee Groover. God daughters Shatonia Jones of Elon and Onnette Moore of Whisett, North Carolina and God son Emmanuel Hodge, and a of host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, In-Laws, and friends.
