Kenneth Douglas “Bunn” Hunter was born October 28, 1976.was the second child of his late parents Gladys Elizabeth Dixon Hunter and Earl Leathers in Durham, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his brother Edgar Hunter, III and nephew Jarian Dowdy. Kenneth transitioned from earth to eternity on Tuesday, April 14, 2020.
Kenneth was educated in the Durham Public School system. He was formerly employed at J & S Janitorial Service and NC State University in the Housekeeping Department.
He accepted Christ at an early age. He later joined Bell-Yeager Free Will Baptist Church under the leadership of his late uncle, Bishop David H. Bell. Kenneth served as a member of the Young Men’s Usher Ministry. He took instruction serving on the floor from his late brother, Edgar Hunter, III. It was awesome to see two brothers working together, receiving and accepting leadership by the other.
Kenneth was a great family man, father, brother, uncle and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his children, shopping, cooking out and riding his motorbike with his friends. He loved his brothers and sisters, especially the loving bond that they shared. He had a loving friend that he shared some of his life with.
To mourn and cherish his memories are daughters: Kerin Hunter, Kelise’ Hunter, Shaniya Johnson; a son: Kane Hunter; brothers: George Anthony Hunter, Kevin Hunter and Jeffrey Hunter; sisters, LaBonne Hunter, Linda Hunter Smith, Pamela Thorpe, and a host of brothers and sisters; aunts: Elaine Howard, Brita Betsey, Thelma Harris Johnson, Shelia McNeil and Bettie Dixon; uncles: Claude Dixon (Estelle), Barry Thomas, his beloved fiancé Jaleesa Ames; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
