            Ms. Lillian Grace Odom, affectionately known as Grace, was called home suddenly on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Duke Regional Hospital.

            Grace was born on January 8, 1957 to the late Eugene and Georgiana Pringle Odom in Durham, NC.  Grace was employed with Gold Kist Plant, Durham Parks and Recreation as well as providing childcare until her health started to decline.

            Grace was an active member of New Creation United Methodist Church. Pre-COVID she thoroughly enjoyed going to service to worship.  Most of her Saturdays were spent with her sister and confidante, Rhonda “Lisa” Satterwhite, referring to each other as “Umph.”

            Grace enjoyed cooking delicious Sunday meals for her family as well as a favorite pastime of solving word find, crossword puzzles, an avid book reader and trolling treasures at the flea market.

            Grace lived in Texas for a short time yet the need to raise her only child surrounded by family was her guide to moving back to Durham, NC.

            She is survived by her son, Dwayne Odom (Sherrie); eight grandchildren, De’ajmon, Anyllah, DeJuane, D’Quan, Dwayne Jr., Deonte, DeShawn, Diavian and Kenneth; one great grandchild Dior, all of Durham, NC; five siblings, Brenda Moore of Greensboro, NC, Georgia Agee. Victor Odom, Ronda Satterwhite and James Manuel Odom, all of Durham, NC; stepgrandchildren, Shadiya Clayton, Katori Clayton, Connie R. Clayton Jr., Jamal Grant, Maricos Clayton, Kemonte Brewer, Keyon Jones; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends and a best friend, Scottie McLean.

            She was preceded in death by four brothers, Johnny Odom, Eugene Odom Jr., Mark Odom and Jeffrey Odom.
