Lula Mae Bright, Daughter of the late Moses Bright and Bettie Gibson Bright, was born in Scotland County NC, On May 9, 1930. She departed this life at Duke Hospice Center, on Monday November 28, 2022 in Durham NC.

She was educated in the Durham Public School System.  She worked many years at the Durham Farmers Exchange in Durham NC. and later worked many years in domestic services until her retirement.

Lula Mae Bright (Granny) was a very loving and caring lady. She spent a lot of her time taking care of her children and grandchildren. Her door was always open to whomever needed a meal, and to whomever just needed someone to talk to. Whenever you walked in her front door, you knew it was a safe place; a judgement free zone.  You felt her love.

Lula Mae Bright was preceded in death by her son, Vernon J. Bright, and leaves to cherish her memory four sons, Darry Bright Sr. (Faye), Larry Bright, Ernest Bright and Louis Bright, three daughters Obetha Bright, Doretha Bright, and Awanya Chavis (Jerome) as well as her sister, Lessie Tilley. Seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends also mourn her loss.
