Marutha Dell (Evans) Lyons

Mrs. Marutha Dell Evans Lyons, daughter of the late W. K. and Onita Herron Evans, was born on August 24, 1945 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  She departed this life on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Duke University Hospital.

She was a graduate of William Penn High School.   She held a master’s degree in Theology and certifications in other educational endeavors.

Marutha was married to Sterling Douglas Lyons for 50 years.  He preceded her in death on March 27, 2020.

She is survived by her son, Harold Frank Lyons, four sisters, Sandra Thompson, Janice Truitt, Trisha Davis and Terra Evans; her brothers, Phillip, Chester and W.K. Jr.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Marutha was blessed with 3 children with two preceeding her in death and now, is reunited in God
