Patricia (Royster) Eaton

Patricia (Pat) Eaton, 75, of Durham, NC passed away on Monday, January 20, 2020 in Raleigh, NC from a Glioblastoma.

Patricia affectionately known as “Pat, Aunt Pat or Pat Finch” was born August 17, 1944 and raised in Durham, NC to James “Bro” Royster and Luvenia “Teenie” Royster. She was the eldest of her five siblings. Educated in the Durham public school system graduating from Hillside High School and attended Durham Tech.

She married Ernest Finch and this union produced her girls, Michelle and Tracy after that marriage dissolved, she met and married Willie Eaton and this union produced her baby boy Antoine Eaton.

She worked at several companies before her tenure at Prudential Insurance Company (OSGLI) in New Jersey where she worked for 30+ years.  She raised her children in Montclair and Irvington NJ before moving back home to Durham.

She is preceded in death by her husband Willie Eaton, her parents, James ”Bro” and Luvenia  “Teenie” Royster, her sister Ave, brothers Donald  and  James  Royster and God Daughter Ashley Brown.

She is survived by her daughters from her first marriage to the decedent Ernest Finch, Michelle Finch, Montclair NJ,  Tracy Finch Jenkins (Yasin) Raleigh, NC, her son Antoine Eaton, Durham, NC , Brothers Ronald (Valeria) and  Valmy Royster both of Durham, NC, Sisters-in-Law Cordie (Don), Julia (James) both of Durham, NC. Her eight grandchildren: Sabriya, Omarr, LaShawn, Tahliyah, Mia, Shemar, Keon, Anya.  Three-grandchildren: Shakiya, Khaliya, Zhakai. Two God Children: Tamara Perry and Greg Gammon and 12 Nieces and 15 Nephews and a host of great nieces and nephews

Ms. Eaton made arrangements for an anatomical donation so there will not be a wake or funeral.
