“HIS” STORY

To the world, he was PJ, but he was born Peter Luis Torres Jr. on November 4, 2003 in Durham, North Carolina to Yulonda Nicole Woods and Peter Luis Torres.  He grew up in Durham and was educated in Durham Public Schools. He was a student at Riverside High School.  PJ gained his heavenly wings on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at 9:30 p.m.

PJ was an avid sports fan and loved to spend time with his family and friends. He loved the Tarheel Basketball team. 

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Ms. Yulonda Nicole Woods; his father, Mr. Peter Luis Torres; two sisters, Miss Dasiah Woods and Miss Ayontis Hargrove of Durham, NC; one brother, Mr. Elijah Torres of New York; a maternal grandmother, Ms. Phyllis Roberts of Durham, NC; a maternal grandfather, Mr. Coleman Brown of Durham, NC a maternal great grandmother, Ms. Annie Woods of Durham, NC; a paternal grandmother, Ms. Denise Rodriguez Torres, of New York City; his paternal grandfather, Mr. Pedro Torres preceded him in death; three aunts, Ms. April Woods of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Ms. Daniella Torres, of New York City and Ms. Sallie Torres of New York, City; one uncle, Mr. Freddie Roberts of Durham, NC; and a host of  extended family members and friends.
