Ralph Lee Rogers, Jr. was born January 24th, 1947 in Durham, NC to Ralph Lee Rogers, Sr and Reathie Mae Covington Rogers who preceded him in death.
Ralph attended Durham City Schools and was a member of the Hillside High School Class of 1966. He furthered his education by attending several local colleges.
Ralph was the owner and operator of the Harambee Shop in old Hayti. For many years he worked with LabCorp in shipping and receiving, it is during those years he became affectionately known as the “Party Man” and developed an array of close friends.
His passions included cooking, listening to music, playing cards—especially Bid Whist. His favorite song was "My Girl" by the Temptations and his favorite football team was America’s Team the Dallas Cowboys.
He was previously married to Naomi Feaste, to this union two children were born, Nikki Nwani McBurnette and Nathan Rogers, he was also the father to Ivy Parrish.
Ralph is survived by his children, Nikki and husband Voris McBurnette, Sr., Nathan, and Ivy, his two grandsons Christopher Williams and Voris McBurnette Jr. His siblings, Calvin and wife Deborah, Eugene and Leola , Reatha Ann, Allen and wife Beverly, Falton and wife Glenda, Mary Deloris, Samuel and wife Rosemary, Cedric, Sr, and wife Cassandra. They will all cherish his memory, along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
