Ralph Spencer was born in Durham, North Carlina on July 1, 1938 and moved on to his eternal home on June 8, 2023. Per his request there will not be a formal funeral service.
He was a member of the graduating class from Hillside High School in June, 1956 and moved to New York City where he worked for many years. He also married Earnestine spencer. F rom this union they had one son, Ralph Spencer, Jr.
He was predeceased by his mother Vera spencer Coker.
He leaves to cherish his memory, one brother, Sammy Coker; a son, ralph Spencer, Jr. and a grandson, Kyon spencer, all of New York City; favorite cousins Marjorie Jackson of Salisbury, Maryland and Norma Johnson (Matthew) of Durham, North Carolina; and a special friend, Linda Faye Breeze of Durham, North Carolina. He also leaves other relatives and friends.
I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one
I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times, laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun;
Of happy memories that I leave when my life is done.
