Tamara "Munchkin" Lassiter Obituary

The Celebration of Life Service for Ms. Lassiter will be live streamed on the Facebook Page of Fisher Memorial Funeral Parlor.

Tamara Charmaine Lassiter was born on October 14, 1973, as the firstborn daughter to the late Raymond Howard Lassiter and Dr. Ernestine Bradley Lassiter in Warner Robins, GA. She departed this life on April 19, 2024, at her mother’s home in Durham, NC following an extended cardiopulmonary illness.

Tamara was a product of Christian education and attended first grade until 12th grade at Spring Valley Academy in Centerville, OH. There she developed her love of art and crafts, reading, and Jesus Christ. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior as a teenager and joined Hillcrest Avenue SDA Church in Dayton, OH. She served as a Youth Usher, and a member of the Youth choirs and The Pathfinders Club. She had such a beautiful voice and blessed our services at Hillcrest SDA with her ministry. After completion of high school Tamara pursued undergraduate studies at Kettering College and Columbia Union College in English and General Studies with aspirations of becoming an attorney.

Tamara loved to engage with people and blessed them with her effervescent smile and warm personality. Thus, she was well suited in her former jobs in retail and food service. Her most recent position was at Roses Discount Store in Durham, NC (Nov. 2022 – Mar. 2023), where she excelled as a cashier and became so empowered in her role and personal confidence. In her leisure time, she thoroughly enjoyed engaging in arts and crafts. Her creative pieces included remarkable painted stone designs, painted portraits, outdoor seasonal/event displays (as depicted on front photo) and beautiful crocheted items (blankets, hats, scarves, shirts, purses, etc.). Her ability to quickly grasp a design technique via reading or YouTube was outstanding and then to view the final product with her personal touches was an awe-inspiring experience. We are blessed to have these cherished relics to forever remember our dearest and extremely creative Tamara.

Tamara leaves to cherish many loving and fond memories, her two wonderful adult children, Ahjenae Shalyn Waddle (Brit Waddle, son-in-law) and Price Divon Cathey II of Dayton, OH. Also, her beautiful mother, Dr. Ernestine Bradley Lassiter (Raymond H. Lassiter, deceased father) of Durham, NC and sister Dr. Hatajai A. Lassiter currently residing in Harrisonburg, VA. She was also a proud grandmother of Price Divon Cathey III of Dayton, OH. Many other relatives and friends sincerely treasure her memory and acknowledge her warmth and thoughtfulness displayed to others.
