Mrs. Thelma Witherspoon Waller, daughter of the late Louis Witherspoon, Sr. and Katie Bradshaw Witherspoon, was born on May 22, 1946, in Iredell County, North Carolina.  She passed away peacefully on August 5, 2022 in her home in Durham, North Carolina at the age of 76.

Thelma leaves to cherish her treasured memories, her husband of 52 years George Waller; her daughters, Vanessa (Brent) Waller Alston, and Stephanie (Marc) Waller of Durham, NC, and one bonus son Maurice (Lisa) of Hillsborough, NC; one sister, Shirley Johnson of Mooresville, NC; three brothers, Louis Witherspoon (Patricia) of Franklinton, Luke Witherspoon, Sr. (Juanita) of Atlantic City, NJ, and Nathaniel Witherspoon (Irene) of Franklin, NC; two brothers-in-law, Charles (Mildred) Waller and Richard (Evelyn) Waller; one brother-in-law that preceded her in death, Robert (Ruby) Waller; two sisters-in-law that preceded her in death, Ethel Waller and Bertha (Bernard) Farrington; her loving bonus grandchild, Chelsea Hayes of Durham, NC; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
