He married the love of his life, Mother Juanita Sanders and they were together for fifty years until her death in November, 2017.

He had been a member of Bell-Yeager Free Will Baptist Church and a deacon.

He is survived by his children, Ruby Kizzie (William), Claudette Harris (Willie), Willie Neal (Pat) and David Neal (Louise), all of Durham and James Brooks of Raleigh; one sister, Doris Hubert of Raleigh, 10 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a very dear friend, Doris; and his best friend, Deacon William Joyner; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

We thank god for sending such a great husband, father, and wonderful grandfather to us.

We could always depend on you to support us in a favorable manner.  And you never refused are requests.

We love you, and we are going to miss but we know that our mother is the happiest mother in Heaven.

Love you Dad and we are truly going to miss you!!
