MONTERRIO De’ANTE “MOONKE” CARTER was born February 26 1991 to Sherrie Watson Odom and Connie  R. Clayton, Sr.  Monterrio departed this life on Friday, July 28, 2017 in Durham, North Carolina.

“Moonke” Monterrio, an angel called home to soon, touched the lives of everyone that he came in contact with.  He was a fun loving individual who always kept an addictive smile on his face.  Monterrio was considerate, thoughtful and respectful.  Monterrio was very protective of his family and friends.  He had a love for football.     

Monterrio graduated from the Performance Learning Center (PLC) class of 2011.  He later attended Automotive Technical Institute in Virginia Beach, Virginia where he gained his automotive certification.     

Monterrio leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Sherrie Odom (Dwayne), father Connie R. Clayton Sr. (Tabitha Brown) of Durham, NC; four sisters, Shadiya Clayton, De’Ajmon Odom, Anyllah Odom, Katori Clayton, all of Durham, NC; six brothers, Connie R. Clayton Jr., Dwayne Odom Jr.. DeJuane Odom, Jamal Grant, Maricos Clayton, Kemonte Brewer, all of Durham, NC; grandmother, Myra Shaw; grandfather, Samuel Bartell of Durham; aunt Chandra Ingram of Durham, uncle Christopher Ingram of Raleigh, NC; aunt Shelby Jones of Alamance County, a special friend (girlfriend) Kiara Timmons of Durham, NC; an extended family, Acura Evans, Naja Arnette, Tierra Brewer, Nicholas Brewer, Treven Lawrence, Kyri Glasson, Tre Williams, Justin Blanding, Patrick Renee, JaQuez Green, all of Durham; and a host of other loving family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Mount Calvary United Church of Christ, 1715 Athens Street.  Family visitation, 1 hour prior to service.
