Brenda Artelia Boyd, daughter of the late Arthur Burnette and Mamie Chalmers Boyd, was born on January 18, 1952 in Durham, NC. She was called from her labor to reward on November 12, 2022. Brenda was a proud graduate of Hillside High School (1970), Kittredge College (1973), Shaw University (2016).
She was a compassionate employee formerly employed at Duke Medical Center, Durham Public Schools, and later at UNC Hospital.
Brenda was affectionately called "Sis", " Bren", or " BB". Brenda was a Sunday school teacher, sang in the choir, Hospitality Club, and wherever she was called upon. She died with a willing heart, and was after before her transition.
Brenda was predeceased by her parents, and older sister, Constance Boyd A. Jenkins.
She leaves to mourn her loss, her daughter, Tekurah "TK" Boyd; a brother, Arthur B. Boyd Jr. (Delphine); a sister, Denise Ragland (Leon); Eric Alford (Brother in Law); nephews, Deryl Boyd (Sebrina), Montrel Boyd, Arthur B. Boyd III, J. Boyd, Kai Ragland; nieces, Wilhelmenia Alford, Victoria Boyd, Amelia Boyd, Tammy Boyd, Sareign Ragland, C.C Ragland, Vaughn Ragland, Tiara Ragland; her close friends, Deidre Ennett, Denelda Walls, Rev. Dr. Alfred Faulkner, Mr. James Rains, S. Fleshman, J. Johnson, Cassandra Brown, and a host of other family and friends.
