Lisa Renee Burton Flowers was born November 8, 1964 to the late Richard Lindberg Burton and Sarah Parker Burton in Durham NC. She transitioned to eternal rest on February 14, 2024 at the Jim and Betsy Bryan Hospice Home in Pittsboro NC.
She graduated from Durham High School in 1984 and was very active in sports while in school. She loved basketball, cheerleading and football even after school and loved to watch sports once she could no longer participate. After high school she got the opportunity to travel the world and often spoke of the time she spent in Guam and Hawaii. She was employed by the State of North Carolina and Duke University for many years before her health started to decline.
She was a faithful member of Lion of Judah in her early adult years and later became a member of Faith Assembly Christian Center in Durham NC where she attended regularly until her health declined. Her favorite pastimes included, spending time with her family, gospel programs, and sporting events.
She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Shawn Hunter of the home; one grandson, Legend Jayce Wesley; three brothers: Rickey Burton, Kenneth Burton and Gary Burton of Durham NC; two sisters: Linda Stroud and Teresa Watson of Chapel Hill; two aunts Lessie Meadows Horton and Christine Parker of Durham NC. She is further survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
